Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 September 2026 · Applies to the Pulse Cloud web service at https://pulsehk.net
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pulse Cloud web application and this website (the "Service"). By creating an account, signing in, or simply browsing a public page, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Pulse Cloud is a do-it-yourself portfolio tracking dashboard for the US, Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan markets. It lets you record your own transactions, watch tickers, and see computed figures — market value, profit and loss, ROI, ATR-based stop-loss levels, capital recovery progress and period returns (Today / WTD / MTD / YTD). Prices are pulled from a third-party market data provider. An interactive demo at /demo shows the interface without an account.
Pulse Cloud is a personal record-keeping and visualisation tool. It is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, fund manager or custodian. We never hold your money, your securities, or the authority to trade on your behalf.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
- You must provide a valid email address you control, and keep access to it secure — it is the recovery route for your account.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password confidential. Tell us promptly at chunpulseyung@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- One account is for one person. Do not share credentials or use the Service to provide a dashboard to third parties without our written agreement.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the transactions, prices, fees and balances you enter. The Service calculates from your data; it does not verify it against your broker.
3. Free and Pro tiers
| Feature | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio matrix (market value, P&L, ROI, ATR stop-loss) | Yes | Yes |
| Multi-market (US / HK / CN / TW) and multi-currency | Yes | Yes |
| Watchlist with categories and target prices | Yes | Yes |
| Import / export (JSON) | Yes | Yes |
| Interface languages | 3 | 3 |
| AI portfolio audit (bring your own AI API key) | Not included | Yes |
| Advertising on the dashboard | None at present (may be introduced later) | None |
Free accounts are provided as-is and may display advertising. Pro unlocks the additional features listed above while your subscription is active. We may adjust the composition of each tier as the product develops; if a change materially reduces what an active Pro subscriber gets, we will give notice on this page or by email before it takes effect.
4. Subscriptions, billing and payment
- Pro is sold as a recurring subscription billed through Stripe. Checkout happens on Stripe's hosted payment page.
- Card details never touch Pulse. Card number, expiry and CVC are entered on Stripe's page and handled by Stripe under its own terms. We only store the resulting subscription status and identifiers so we can unlock Pro.
- Prices are displayed on the landing page and at Stripe checkout. Prices are exclusive of any taxes or duties that may apply in your jurisdiction, which are your responsibility.
- You authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method for each billing period until you cancel.
5. Renewal and cancellation
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the price in effect when the period started, using the payment method on file, until you cancel.
- How to cancel. Email chunpulseyung@gmail.com at any time and we will cancel the subscription for you — there is no self-service cancellation portal yet. Cancelling stops all future charges. We process cancellation requests as quickly as we can; if a renewal charge is taken before we get to your request, tell us and we will correct it.
- After cancelling. Pro features remain available until the end of the period you already paid for, after which the account reverts to Free. Your portfolio data is not deleted by a downgrade.
- If a charge fails, we may retry it and, if it remains unpaid, downgrade the account to Free. We will not delete your data because of a failed payment.
6. Refunds
Cancelling prevents the next charge; it does not by itself refund the current or any past billing period. Except where a refund is required by law, subscription payments are not refundable, and we do not offer a cooling-off or change-of-mind refund.
What we will always put right is a billing mistake: if you were charged in error, charged after you asked us to cancel, or charged for a period in which the Service was unavailable because of a fault on our side, email chunpulseyung@gmail.com and we will correct it, normally by refunding the affected charge to the original payment method.
You can stop renewals at any time by asking us to cancel — see §5 above. Cancelling is always free, and we do not charge a cancellation fee.
7. Your data and content
Your portfolio records and watchlist belong to you. You grant us only the licence we need to store, process, back up and display that content in order to run the Service for you — nothing more, and never for advertising or resale. You can export everything as JSON at any time from the dashboard. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party AI providers
The AI portfolio audit sends a summary of your portfolio to whichever AI provider you configured, using the API key you supplied. Requests to that provider, the provider's handling of the data, and any charges the provider bills you for are between you and that provider, under their terms. AI output is generated text: it can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it is not reviewed by us before you see it.
9. Market data
Prices, index levels and currency rates come from third-party sources (Yahoo Finance) and are shown for information only. They may be delayed, adjusted, incomplete or wrong, and may differ from the prices your broker shows. Never place a trade based solely on a figure from Pulse. We are not responsible for decisions you take using the Service, and the data providers are not affiliated with or endorsing Pulse.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or in breach of any exchange's or broker's rules;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service, or circumvent rate limits, caches or authentication (including the sign-in flow, the middleware allowlist, or the AI audit request path);
- reverse engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense or white-label the Service, or offer it as your own product;
- probe, scan or attack the Service or its infrastructure, or attempt to access another user's data;
- upload or store content that is malicious, infringing, or that you have no right to store (including sharing another person's API key);
- misrepresent Pulse as a licensed financial adviser or use it in marketing material for financial products.
We may throttle or suspend access that breaks these rules, and may report unlawful activity.
11. No financial advice
Not financial advice. Pulse Cloud is an informational and educational tool. Nothing in the Service — prices, P&L, ROI, returns, ATR stop-loss levels, target prices, portfolio matrices or AI-generated audits — constitutes financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any security in any market. We are not licensed or registered with any securities regulator, and we do not know your financial situation. You alone are responsible for your investment decisions, and you should consult a licensed professional where appropriate. Investing carries risk, including loss of your entire capital.
12. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Free access carries no availability commitment; we may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may take the Service down for maintenance. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of significant changes. Features that depend on third parties (market data, Supabase, Stripe, your AI provider) can be affected by outages outside our control.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data or computed figures. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost profits or lost data, or for trading or investment losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) HK$100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
14. Termination
- You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time via chunpulseyung@gmail.com.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, is used unlawfully, or repeatedly fails payment. Except in urgent cases (for example an active attack or illegal use), we will give notice and, where practical, a chance to fix the problem.
- On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive — including data ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have where you live.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The "Last updated" date at the top always shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the dashboard or notified by email before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
