About Pulse Cloud

Pulse is a portfolio dashboard for people who invest across Asia and the United States and are tired of stitching their positions together from three broker apps and a spreadsheet. You record your own transactions; Pulse keeps the running picture — what each position is worth now, what it has returned, how much capital you have recovered, and where your risk lines sit.

This site is the hosted version. There is also a self-hosted edition that runs on your own machine if you would rather keep everything local. Either way, it is a tracking tool, not a broker: Pulse never connects to your brokerage account and never places trades.

Four markets, one view

US HK CN TW

United States, Hong Kong, mainland China (Shanghai and Shenzhen) and Taiwan. You pick the market for each ticker and Pulse applies the right exchange suffix, so 0700 on HK and 0700 on TW stay separate positions instead of colliding. Holdings in different currencies are shown alongside your primary currency, with a secondary currency available for comparison.

The core table: market value, unrealised P&L, ROI, an ATR-based stop-loss level per position, and capital-recovery progress — all recalculated from live prices.

Watchlist

Group the tickers you are researching into drag-and-drop categories, across all four markets, with optional target prices and alerts.

Performance card

Today, week-to-date, month-to-date and year-to-date returns at a glance, so you can see whether this week actually beat last month.

AI portfolio audit

Send a structured summary of your holdings to an AI model you choose — Gemini, OpenAI, DeepSeek or a local endpoint — using your own API key. Pick the prompt style and how strict the review should be.

Import / export

Back up your portfolio and watchlist as JSON, and move the same file between the hosted and self-hosted editions. Your data is not locked in.

Where the prices come from

Market data — quotes, historical closes and currency rates — comes from Yahoo Finance, retrieved through the open-source yfinance library and refreshed by a background poller on the server. Yahoo Finance is an independent third party: it is not affiliated with Pulse, it does not endorse this product, and its data may be delayed, adjusted or occasionally plain wrong. Treat every figure here as an estimate for your own record-keeping, not as an execution price. For anything that matters, check your broker.

Who builds it

Pulse is built and maintained by one indie developer based in Hong Kong — not a company, not a fund, and not a team of analysts. It started as a personal tool for tracking a mixed HK/US portfolio and grew from there. That means the roadmap moves quickly but support is a single inbox: questions, bug reports, feature requests and data questions all go to chunpulseyung@gmail.com, and you will get a reply from the person who wrote the code.

The hosted edition needs an account because your portfolio has to live somewhere: authentication and storage are handled by Supabase, payments by Stripe (card details never touch Pulse), and the application runs on cloud infrastructure.
